Welcome back! I hope that you had a wonderful break and enjoyed time with friends and family. The start of a year provides an ideal time to reflect on where we have been and where we are heading.
Throughout 2016 the Victorian Government funded the VDC to support over 50 project grants in the areas of Digital Innovation, Maintaining Industry Currency, Enhancing Quality Provision, Indigenous Education and Workforce Development. These projects enabled providers to offer opportunities for VET professionals to focus on strategies that encourage innovation in teaching and learning, upgrade of existing skills and knowledge, and/or engage in collegiate activity thereby contributing to innovation and expertise within their organisation. The Projects are part of the Victorian Government’s Skills First commitment to strengthening VET professional development and disseminating the knowledge and skills learned across the sector.
We now look forward with excitement to this year with a new range of grant programs for 2017. Further information on the VDC Skills First Grants application process will become available in the next edition of VDC News on 22 February.
