All but one of the ten new Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs) are now officially up and running after the announcement of a further five was made recently.<\/p>\n

The JSCs are tripartite, industry-led organisations that will address the country\u2019s skills and workforce needs. \u201cJSCs will identify skills and workforce needs for their sectors, map career pathways across education sectors, develop contemporary VET training products, support collaboration between industry and training providers to improve training and assessment practice and act as a source of intelligence on issues affecting their industries.\u201d They will also work closely with Jobs and Skills Australia<\/a> (JSA) and draw on JSA\u2019s workforce analysis and projections to help with their planning.<\/p>\n

The latest five JSCs are:<\/p>\n

Powering Skills Organisation<\/a>\u00a0(covering energy, gas and renewables)
\nHumanAbility<\/a>\u00a0(covering early educators, health and human services)
\nSkillsEQuipped<\/a>\u00a0(covering arts, personal services, retail, tourism and hospitality)
\nPublic Skills Australia<\/a>\u00a0(covering public safety and government), and
\nFuture Skills Organisation<\/a>\u00a0(covering finance, technology and business)<\/p>\n

These new five build on four that were announced earlier. These were:<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance<\/a>\u00a0(covering manufacturing)
\nIndustry Skills Australia<\/a>\u00a0(covering transport and logistics)
\nMining and Automotive Skills Alliance<\/a>\u00a0(covering mining and automotive)
\nSkills Insight<\/a>\u00a0(covering agribusiness)<\/p>\n

The final JSC, BuildSkills Australia, (covering building, construction and property)\u00a0will be fully operational in the near future.<\/p>\n
