At the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 17 and 18 August, the VET National Teaching & Learning Conference 2023 is set to be the biggest in-person VDC conference yet. But just what are you signing up for?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s delve a bit deeper into the program for VDC News readers \u2013 giving you a breakdown of what\u2019s in store for this amazing 2-day conference. So, let\u2019s take a look.<\/p>\n

Day 1 promises to be an exciting affair \u2013 Craig Robertson, CEO, Victorian Skills Authority as representative of the Minister for Skills, will officially open the conference. There\u2019s then slated to be an action-packed day. The first keynote presentation features Jacqui Cooper, 5-time Olympian & 5-time World Champion.<\/p>\n

Following the first keynote presentation is a WorldSkills Australia Panel Discussion, featuring panellists from all over the world.<\/p>\n

Then attendees can join one of 3 confirmed concurrent sessions, all outlined in the official program, which you can access here<\/a>. Missed a session? No need to worry, they\u2019ll be on again right afterwards, so you can take it all in at your own pace.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there is a line-up of 6 Applied Research sessions that you can attend. Attendees might be a bit spoilt for choice, but that\u2019s all the more reason to join in.<\/p>\n

You can also choose to join a bespoke WorldSkills Australia Competition tour at either 11:00am or 1:00pm. (And if you miss either of those, there\u2019s a third one on day 2.)<\/p>\n

Following that, there\u2019s the second coveted keynote, Dr Susan James Relly, Professor in Vocational Education, Head of the School of Education; University of Adelaide.<\/p>\n

Closing off the day with a Networking Function, attendees can wind down and chat over Canap\u00e9s & Drinks.<\/p>\n

But the event doesn\u2019t end there, as day 2 promises to be just as exciting.<\/p>\n

After welcoming you back for day 2, Nasir Sobhani, The Streets Barber, Hairdresser for the homeless, will be the third keynote speaker. Followed closely by a Panel interview with the brilliant Chem\u00e8ne Sinson & WSA Student Ambassadors, readers might wonder what else we could possibly have in store for the morning of day 2. You\u2019ll be able to catch yet another keynote presentation, this time by Aimee Stanton, The Lady Tradie, Plumber turned Tiny House Builder.<\/p>\n

Leading up to lunch time, there is a set of 3 presentations for you to check out, or \u2013 as mentioned previously \u2013 join a WorldSkills Australia competition tour.<\/p>\n

Dr Louise Mahler, Gravitas Expert & Keynote Speaker of the Year: Leadership body-language & voice is featuring after lunch, as the fifth, and final, keynote speaker of the event. We\u2019re then joining Chem\u00e8ne Sinson once more for a Panel Discussion, where a host of equally brilliant individuals will be discussing \u2018How do we move From Competence to Excellence\u2019.<\/p>\n
